steve analysis log

2014-07-15

now have snapshots of optical stimulation in each analysis directory

problems: 2014-06-27 has lots of spiking for 0 brightness. why?

possible problem: do we need to do cross-correlations to make sure multiple channels are not seeing the same unit?

questions: what do we want to plot out of this in a paper?

issues: CSD doesn't import automatically

Direction stims didn't get plotted in 2014-06-24, 2014-06-27, 2014-07-02

to do: plot responses and fits to visual stimulation

2014-07-16

now have plotted visual responses as a function of time

looks like responses go down, more might drop below spontaneous activity, so that DI increases but overall tuning shape seems pretty similar.

might want to plot: DI with blank subtracted vs. DI without blank subtracted; my guess is former will show on average reduction while later won't change significantly, suggesting we are suppressing the "gain" of the circuit and that is causing an increase in DI (w/ blank subtracted). (Of course we need to filter for significant visual responses.)

still potential problems:

  1. do we need to do cross-correlations to make sure multiple channels are not seeing the same unit?

    1. should we plot the spike shape with each tuning curve to convince the reader that we have the same cell or multiunit activity?
